Before and after photos of Visionscapes' landscape designs:

Back yard Before:  Homeowners wanted to replace the worn-out lawn with a wildlife-friendly mixture of mostly native plants that would be attractive to birds and butterflies.

Back Yard After (picture above):  Gravel path leads to a seating arbor with a bench swing.  Naturalized plantings of Douglas maples, redtwig dogwood, blue elderberry and native wildflowers mingle with wildlife-friendly ornamentals such as creeping thyme and cherry-red phygelius.

New paver patio

Patio Before:  Drab concrete slab hugs the house, has an uninviting look.

Patio After:
New paver patio laid in a beautiful herringbone pattern extends into the garden, creating the feeling of being part of the landscape

Back yard arbor

Back Yard Before:  Nondescript corner gives homeowners no reason to be in the yard.

Back Yard After:  New arbor seating area with curving flagstone path creates a retreat for family and guests.

Front Yard Steps Before
: South-facing boulder retaining walls and concrete steps create a sun-baked environment

Front Yard Steps After:
Just one growing season later, and already lavender, Flower Carpet roses, and container plantings add color and softness.

of boulders showing sedums and sempervivums in crevices.  Trailing rosemary and Santolina 'Lemon Queen' soften rock edges.

Side Yard Before

Side Yard Before:  Neighbor's house is perched higher than homeowner's yard, creating an unwelcome view to the side.

Side Yard After 1:  Staggered cedar fence steps down to sidewalk, providing a screen from the house next door.

Side Yard After Close-up

Side Yard After 2:  New curved gravel pathway is flanked by lush, shade-loving shrubs and perennials that give the original rock wall an updated look, and make the walk to the gate more appealing.

Back Yard Before:  Existing hardwood deck and retaining walls need softening to become more inviting.

Back Yard After:  New basalt column water feature and updated plantings create a more comfortable atmosphere.

Attention to details, such as the architecture and existing colors of your home, allow the final landscape to integrate seamlessly into your lifestyle.

A simple water feature,
such as this bubbling urn, provides movement and a pleasant sound in the garden. These types of fountains are adaptable to the small garden or courtyard, and are easy to install. Birdbath rocks are an even simpler way to provide water for wildlife.
