DESIGN PORTFOLIO

"I just wanted to tell you again how much we love the designs that you showed us. It's clear that you got a real feel for our house and the area. Thanks for all of the creative thought that went into the plans. Just wonderful!" -- A. & M., West Hills

Garden Details

When I design a garden for my clients, by the time it's finished we will have selected a style and feel for the garden that enhances the site and the home. Then it's ready to be furnished with all of the final details that make it come alive and that personalize it for you and your family.

Below I've got some ideas and examples of the kinds of special touches that your garden could use to give it a unique appeal.

Interesting Plant Combinations:

striking purple and gold foliage    spiky phormium echoes brick tones of house, sedums, and stone wall    fothergilla in fall foliage with acaena and heather groundcovers

Structures in the landscape:

arbor bench swing
Simple arbor with bench swing is a pleasant destination in a beautifully wooded garden area

Gate with oval window that echoes window on house

Small honey ledgestone wall delineates beds with smooth curves

  More details:

Pavers at the side of the patio gently separate into a new pattern

Simple trellis breaks up a long blank wall

Traditional furnishings with herringbone pavers

Beautifully-crafted cedar pergola creates privacy

Water bowl/bird bath cut from antique propane tank

Lots of colorful container plantings soften a house wall
